JADD Madagascar actively participated in the National Dialogue for the 8th GEF (Global
Environment Facility) programming cycle, which took place on August 27 and 28, 2024,
at the Novotel Antananarivo. The event aimed to assess the impact of GEF support on
environmental issues in Madagascar, including the establishment of strategic and legal
tools, sustainable development, climate change, biodiversity preservation, and overall
environmental protection, while also planning future collaborations.
In conjunction with this dialogue, JADD Madagascar had the opportunity to meet with
GEF CEO, Mr.Carlos Manuel Rodriguez and the UNIDO Country Representative for
Madagascar, Mrs.Volatiana Rakotondrazafy. The discussions focused on the
implementation of the “Inclusive GEF Assembly Challenge Program,” which aims to
promote climate change adaptation actions and social inclusion in Madagascar.
